Today, we're looking at Revelation 3 20 through 22.

This is such a cool part of scripture, a personal invitation straight from Jesus.

Here's what it says. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,

I will come into him and eat with him and he with me. The one who conquers, I will grant him to

let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. There is so much good stuff packed into these three verses. We're going to break it down, talk about what Jesus is saying, and I'll even share a story

about how this passage has hit him for me. So let's talk context. This part of Revelation is from

a letter to the church in Laudicia, and here's the deal with Laudicia. It was a wealthy city. They had

banks, a booming clothing industry, and even a medical school known for its fancy eye salve. But their

water? Not great. They didn't have hot springs like the nearby city of

Heropolis, wherever you pronounce it, or refreshing cold water like Colossay. Their water was

lukewarm by the time it reached them. Disgusting, right? Jesus, however, actually calls the church

lukewarm earlier in this letter.

He says, I'm about to spit you out of my mouth, which is harsh.
