On February 23rd, 2022, in the early morning hours, Tara Packenick was sleeping at her

home in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and suddenly she heard a slam from the storm door.

Tara wasn't too worried because she thought it might be her son's friend, Taylor

she business leaving. She got out of bed and noticed that the basement light was on.

Curious, she decided to go downstairs to see if her son, 24-year-old Shad Therian,

was still there, or if he had left with Taylor. Upon reaching the basement, Tara searched

for Shad but couldn't find him. Just as she was about to return upstairs, something

unusual caught her eye. A black, five-gallon bucket placed on the floor, right next to the

staircase, concealed by a towel. Tara lifted the towel, and what she discovered was beyond

anything she could have ever expected. It was her son's severed head.

And I'm Derek Levasser.

So today we're diving into a case that actually just went to trial. So this happened in 2022,

but this year it did go trial and the trial gave us a wealth of information from body

camp footage to obviously court footage. We got to hear much more information.

So I have been following this case for a little while and I did want to wait until it went

to trial because there was so many unanswered questions that I feel like now we have answered.

Yeah, I have not read the script and as you were just doing the teaser, I was listening

along with everyone else and I said, damn, I didn't expect that one. That was a twist.

So I don't have anything else that if you want to dive right into it, I'm interested

to hear about this case.
