Thanks for joining. I'm Lauren Atkinson on the Join the Journey staff team, and today we are in our very last passage of Deuteronomy.

It's Deuteronomy chapters 33 to 34.

And it's the last passage of the entire Pentateuch.

So if you have been tracking with us and reading, then we are five books down in only

two months, which is so exciting.

And today's passage is honestly going to feel a lot like a recap of the last five books

and especially this last book of Deuteronomy.

We're going to be looking back at the past and ahead to the future.

And as I was thinking about this passage, it honestly reminded me of high school or college

graduation.

So bear with me.

You've got your cap and your oversized gown draping over you, walking in a line of your

classmates to the sound of pomp and circumstance playing as everyone enters and finds

their seats.

And the professors are on stage, a guest speaker is about

to give their long-awaited commencement speech before everyone can turn their tassels and

toss their caps and be graduated. And in that commencement speech, as the speaker draws you to

remember the last four or however many years leading up to this moment,

it honestly reminded me a lot of how we are feeling and thinking about Deuteronomy 33 and 34 as we are looking back and looking ahead.

And I graduated college in the spring of 2021 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
