Hey, everybody. We're going to start today with a serious version of story time, Lenny.

I was 29 years old and my wife and I just moved Apex, North Carolina.

And one day, I decided to go to the driving range. And I picked the one closest to my house.

It was called T to green driving range. And if I didn't go to that driving range,

if I had picked another one, this podcast probably doesn't exist.

So I get out on the range that day and about 10 minutes in, I start to become aware of the guy on my left.

And I began to notice him because he was methodically hitting this three yard draw at the exact same flag,

rhythmically, scrape after scrape, the ball started on the exact same line every time.

So I started doing that thing we all do. We're trying to watch someone else on the range without them noticing.

I backed off, started doing some stretches, some slow motion swings, I furrowed my brow,

acting like I was really concentrating on a move. When actuality, I was just watching this guy next to me,

it laser after laser with every glove in his back. And eventually, I noticed the name on his back,

Rob Stitzer. I soon found out Rob was the pro there. And eventually, I got a lesson with Rob.

And about five swings into my first lesson, Rob had me hitting the best shots I've ever hit in my life.

I remember how effortless they felt when I was doing them right. I can still picture the shots,

the fully compressed ones. I remember thinking, oh, that's how long they're supposed to stay in the air.

On my last shot of the day, Rob said, that's as good as anyone can hit it right there.

And I'll always remember him saying that because that gave me a hope I hadn't felt before.

The hope of improvement that led to the quest were on today. As is documented on earlier episodes,

I continued to see Rob for lessons and rick for club fitting throughout the years.

And just a few weeks ago, I was scheduled to go see them again.

But I got a text that morning from Rob that he wasn't feeling well. And it turned out,
