Thank you. This is Crimes of the Centuries. In the Concentration camps of World War II, the Nazis killed six million Jews and one young woman named Anne Frank.

They also killed her sister Margo and her mother, Edith.

Her father, Otto, survived.

Anne suffered through incarceration and starvation, but her deduced cause of death was technically

of typhus, likely in February 1945, while held at Bergen-Belsen, the Nazi concentration camp

located in northern Germany.

The camp was liberated, a scant two months later, by British troops.

She had almost outlived the horror.

they were sent to Camp Vesterbork, a temporary transit facility. Selected for deportation, they, along with more than a thousand others, were shipped

to Auschwitz on the very last cattle car to leave Vesterbork. Jewish captives remain there,

with their numbers exploding until seven months later when Vesterbork was liberated in April
