How are you getting the baseball practice if you're not being picked up for five?

Sitting here at the airport. Flight is delayed. How season seven would it be that

I try to get to Kentucky to see Eli the day before surgery and I don't end up making

it.

It is season 7.

We are two guys.

We are two guys in our early 40s.

We are two guys in our early 40s.

We have families, adult responsibilities and three natural hip joints

and we're still chasing scratch. This episode is called surgery. After four delays, my early morning flight to Lexington finally took off.

I sat back while I waited for the Wi-Fi to kick in on the plane, closed my eyes, and thought.

And my first thought was, is this real life?

I was flying to Lexington to spend the day with Eli because the next day he'd

be getting his hip replaced at 43 years old.

And the reality of that hit me.

Like actually hit me maybe for the first time.

How crazy that is.

Like if present day Mike and Eli were to travel back in time to talk to the Mike and Eli that

existed in February and tell them all that was

going on today. Could those guys even comprehend it? How long would we have to talk to

them to convince them this was actually real. That all the plans they were making for season

seven were not going to happen and instead their reality would be something they couldn't even see as a possibility.
