My name is Ben Burrell, and this is Bob Dylan album by album, a podcast that brings you an in-depth look at each Bob Dylan studio recording record by record.

Well, hope you're good. Hope all is well in your world. We have quite a lot of Dylan news to get to.

0:15.9

Well, actually, I say quite a lot, but not really in terms of volume, but in terms of stuff to discuss.

He has announced a brand, well, he's back on tour for a start, but he's in terms of volume, but in terms of stuff to discuss. He has announced a brand,

0:27.0

well, he's back on tour for a start. He's announced a brand new book as well. And I love the fact that 18 years after his first autobiography, Chronicles Volume 1, we get a second book,

0:33.8

and it's not Chronicles Volume 2. Instead, it's a book called The Philosophy of Modern

and even explains how bluegrass relates to heavy metal.

1:14.1

So for someone that famously didn't like people analyzing his songs in this way, it seems old Bobby is analyzing people's songs in that way,

which is a bit of light relief, people like me who spend quite a lot of their day analyzing popular

1:26.9

music. But honestly, this looks really

1:29.0

exciting. You know, I don't know if we'd maybe have wanted this over a second chronicles. Who

1:34.9

knows? I think a second chronicles would have been nice. But also, it's just nice to get something new

1:40.4

from Bob that is a creative outlet that isn't what you'd expect.

1:45.4

You know, even at his age, he's still surprising us and bringing out things we're surprised

1:50.4

to see. So I'm really excited about that. The book, once again, is called the Philosophy of

1:54.9

Modern Song by Bob Didom. November the 8th is when it comes out. So a fair amount of time to

2:00.6

wait, a fair amount of time to wait, a fair amount of time
