Before we go too far, tell me a little bit more about you.

I'd like to call myself a partially reformed developer with a liberal arts degree from a state

university who got in on the ground floor, Gladwell Outlier style at exactly the right moment

when we were building sites that you could probably build in WordPress in an hour and we

were getting to charge a million dollars for them. So it seemed like a

really nice way to make money for somebody whose other employment options were decidedly more

liberal arts. It sort of bridges the gap between art in terms of user interface and user

experience and technology in terms of storing and persisting data and delivering functionality.

We weren't building anything fancy back then,

but these were the first websites out on the internet. So it sounds like it was pretty opportunistic then.

That's really cool. It's really interesting to think about, you know, what we can do today in five
