But many of you are preparing to celebrate the advancement of the Earth calendar

as the Gregorian year comes to an end, and with it, a decade full of memories.

Please remember the only officially accepted calendar on Typhon is the Abelard New Perpetual Calendar,

and by that standard this is hardly a noteworthy or particularly elegantly formatted date.

Humans are creatures of tradition, and it can be difficult to adjust to new schedules in both

the short and long term.

But would it excite you to know you are more malleable than you think?

How do you think you would react if I told you, effective immediately, every day will be stretched

to 28 hours, and that each of these hours would be redefined to include 75 minutes.

Each of these minutes would be 75 seconds long, and that seconds will remain largely unchanged.

Those more mathematically gifted of you might recognize this as a change wherein days last 83% longer than before.

Surely you would notice such a change.

But rest assured that if we did not give you warning, and instead,

simply adjusted the movement of clocks on Typhon by the necessary amount, little by little.

Over the course of about a year and a half, none of you would notice.

Sure, you might think to yourself,

The past week has really dragged.

But how many times have you thought that in your life?
