If you have a low-risk pregnancy, you've come in to lay in labor all on your own.

You don't need to be continuously monitored.

That's called intermittent monitoring, where we monitor you for a little bit.

Make sure baby looks happy in there.

And then you can be off the monitor and totally, like, free from the cords and stuff.

So sometimes, though, that intermittent monitoring

is not always offered as an option. So if you do have a low-risk pregnancy and you go in and they've

just have you hooked up the whole time, you can ask like, can I be off the monitor for a little bit? Um,

you can always ask that.
