Jose Carlos Gonzales Hurtado is president of EWTN, Espagna.

He has lectured in business marketing in institutions in Madrid and Tel Aviv, and he has a new book that I think we should all take a close look at. It's called New Scientific Evidence for the Existence of God. That is our topic today. Welcome, Mr. Gonzalez-Furtado. Thank you very very much, Mark, for having me today.

You state at the start that scientific evidence for the existence of God isn't just bending that way.

It's overwhelming.

In fact, you say that if it were another topic, there would be absolutely no doubt,

nor dispute, no debate at all about it.

Why then do we have so much denial, do you think, even among scientists?

There are different reasons.

The first thing is we have to break the myth that the majority of scientists are atheists because they are not.

The majority of scientists are believers, they are religious people, or they are theists, meaning they believe in a personal god.

And that is by an overwhelming percentage, meaning more than 95% of the Nobel Prizes

winners in the last 100 years in science, they have been believing in God, while for literature,

for example, it's only 35% of the literature Nobel Prizes that they were atheists. So the first thing to say is, you know, there is a myth saying that science doesn't, you know,

separates you from God and that is, that is something to break.

Now, precisely, I mean, my belief is that precisely because that myth exists,

many of the scientists that they're religious people,

they don't manifest themselves as religious people.

And at the same time, other people that are not scientists, they take the lead to say,

science and God are confronted.

You know, I keep saying this because, you know, the new atheists, so Mr. Dawkins, Bennett,

Hitchens, and Frey, all of them, all of them, none of them is a scientist.

So all of them study philosophy or journalism or something like that.
