The clock is ticking for the Trump administration, which has 90 days to strike tariff deals with

scores of countries before its tariff pause expires. An EU spokesperson says the European Union's

Trade Commissioner is expected to travel to the U.S. on Sunday to negotiate.

But today, President Donald Trump's trade representative Jameson Greer says the U.S. hasn't initiated talks with China.

The U.S. excluded China from its 90-day tariff pause.

Today, Beijing hit back at Trump's tariff hike by rising tariffs on American

goods to 125%. However, China appeared to be signaling that it won't continue to increase tariffs

beyond this point. In his first public comments on the ongoing trade war, Chinese President

Xi Jinping said the country, quote, is not afraid of any unjust suppression.

The Chinese reaction this morning is not terribly surprising, but certainly unfortunate.

No one else has retaliated against these reciprocal tariffs yet.

China got out ahead and decided to do it.

And that's why they're in a different category than the rest of this point.

Trump officials privately warned China against retaliatory tariffs hours before their announcement.

But it didn't work, according to a source familiar with the talks.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation

Safety Board are investigating a small plane crash this morning in Florida that killed the three

people on board. The plane crashed along a busy street and erupted into a fireball outside the
