Well, welcome to the second episode of our look back at one of the great Formula One teams in history,

and that is Williams. And join me once again are Jonathan Williams and Karoom Chandok. We did the early days,

the late 70s and early 80s. So it makes sense that we'll now going to I guess the well second golden period really

I guess it's Honda isn't it going from the the sort of the green and white even though they

were still green and white to start with it's Honda's arrival for for 84 that really sort of starts the next era, isn't it?

I think so. It's the first major manufacturer partnership that we had. When we converted

the second factory on site at Grove that was created for BMW's late 1990s Le Mans program.

We turned that in 2002 into a new museum and we actually laid it out in sections

and the sections were actually reference to the manufacturers.

So we had a Cosworth era, a Honda era, a Renault era and a BMW era, and we to that point fitted the cars into it as such.

So I think a major manufacturer partnering with Williams taking us into the turbo era, to which we were quite late comers, but I think that sort of reflected in particular Patrick's philosophy that we had to do it properly.

We did, I think, explore being customer teams of both Ferrari and BMW.

But I think Patrick led the narrative that really we needed to be sort of a works team, a factory supported team.
