Carp are difficult any time but around spawning time they can be extremely frustrating. But they can be caught on a fly. You need to know where to look and which fish to target. 0:27.1	striped bass and smallmouth bass and bow fin, you know, non-trought species. and a friend of mine has been fishing with him for a while and I had a great trip and I was
0:40.3	a great trip and I was really impressed with Rowan's knowledge of carfishing.
0:47.8	So I wanted him to share some of his secrets with us, mainly on the, around the spawn period, the

1:40.2	put studs in my pro-hybrid boots.
1:44.4	So the pro-hybrid weighting boots are a boot with a felt sole insert and then that sticky
1:52.0	Michelin rubber around the outside of the boot.
1:55.0	And these things are great because you have the security of felt on slippery rocks
2:02.0	yet when you're when you're walking on a trail or when you're walking up a muddy bank,
2:06.8	you still have the grip of a tread, of a rubber tread, and I have found them to be incredibly comfortable and secure on rivers.
2:19.6	And what I recently did was I put studs in him and I'm telling you it makes me feel like I'm
2:28.8	20 years younger waiting in these boots I just fish the bat and kill this morning in a spot that has a lot of round
2:35.3	rocks and they're often slippery and I'm always struggling with waiting this stretch of river,
2:40.8	particularly in early season, high water.
