Hello, everyone. How is it going? My name's Andrew, and it's great to be back here with you for another

0:05.9

edition of simplified speech. Simplified speech is the Cubell series, which features clear,

0:12.2

natural, and easy to understand English conversations between native speakers. Today, in this episode,

0:19.7

I'll be joined by my co-host, Indiana, in just a moment, and we're

0:24.2

going to talk about a bit of a difficult topic today, to be honest with you guys. I think this

0:30.2

is kind of pushing the boundaries of simplified speech. We're getting into a little bit of a

0:36.5

tricky topic, but don't worry, we're going to do

0:39.2

our best to explain this topic as we go through it along the way. And of course, there will be a helpful

0:45.3

study guide available for this episode as well. And our topic for today is about an operation

0:52.4

that Indiana had recently. Now, as a runner, this is one of my worst

while running. Actually, it wasn't a running injury per se, but it started and she noticed it because of running.

1:13.5

And so this injury was something that was very, very painful to her and could only be fixed by having surgery.

1:21.3

So she's going to join us here in a minute.

1:24.1

And she's going to tell us about the whole story, about how she was injured, about her

1:29.3

surgery and going to the hospital, about the recovery and rehabilitation process post-surgery,

1:36.7

and also she's going to tell us a little bit about the health care system and the medical

1:41.0

insurance system in the USA. So as I said, it's a little bit of a difficult topic for today, but I think you can do it.

1:49.4

And as I mentioned, there's a helpful study guide for all CULIPS members to accompany this episode.

1:55.5

And also, guys, don't feel ashamed ever if you need to listen to an episode more than once it's not like you have to listen

only one time and then perfectly understand everything nobody can do this when they're learning a

language in fact repetition is extremely helpful when we're learning english and building our
