She didn't see the whole gruesome scene, but she heard what had happened, she heard the gunshots, her parents were not answering, and she ran out of the house to try to find some safety.

This is shocking because there had not been a murder

in Bellevue in over 10 years. It was a pretty quiet town. There's only about 2,000 people
