Welcome to the "Saturday Morning Golf Stat" from the Hack it Out Golf Podcast. Imagine a driving range with 100 golfers: every golfer on that range hits his drives about 225 yards. And then there is a second range, in which all the golfers are driving their balls about 255 yards. What percentage of the golfers on each of those ranges would have a handicap index of 15 or higher? Lou puts this question to Mark and Greg, and after sorting the scoring, we see another solid data point that distance matters—and should be something you work on this off-season. Each of these will be a mini-episode (10-15 minutes long) about an interesting golf stat. We will discuss what you can learn, and most importantly, how you can apply this on the golf course to lower your scores and lower your handicap. 1:05.3	Golfers that hit the ball about 255 with their driver, what percent of those golfers have an index of 15 or worse?
1:15.6	And then the second question is golfers that hit the ball a little bit shorter.
1:20.5	So they hit the ball between 220 and 230.
1:23.6	Think of it this way.
1:24.6	They hit it about $225.
1:26.3	So golfers that hit their driver about $5, what percent of them have an index of 15 or worse? So it's the same question. What percent of golfers have an index of 15 or worse? And one of them is for golfers that hit it about 255 off the T. The other is for golfers that hit it about 225 off the tea.
