Man, you have got a dream job.

Folks, this is something that I've heard a thousand times.

And it's true, I do have a dream job, but in the world of dreams there are some

nightmares too. Working as an outdoor rider, podcaster and so forth comes with a

pressure cooker amount of stress at times.

And then of course those world-class adventures that help you blow off that stress.

So a question that I get usually right after being told I have a dream job is how do you break into that? I'm really interested.

And folks, it's hard. Today I want to try and kind of just walk through some of the processes you can use to get

into the outdoor industry. That might be in writing or

uh... podcasting or uh... even engineering

or some such thing

so uh... tell you a little bit about my backstory by the way you're hearing the the hum of my old 2008 Dodge one ton diesel truck I'm on my way over to

Visit my friend and sometimes mentor Ron Spomer.

We're going to do some work together.

I'm going to start trying to help him with some YouTube videos.

Or rather he's going to teach me the ropes of doing YouTube videos and

hopefully those will be of high enough quality that a few of them will end up on Ron's

Palmer outdoors. Really exciting kind of new chapter we're trying out here. We'll see how she goes.

At any rate, I've got a little driving time going through the beautiful mountains of southeastern Idaho and thought I would share some thoughts that I've been

percolating on in this world of outdoor communication. So you want to be a writer, podcaster, photographer,

marketing agent, whatever. You want to be an outdoor industry professional.

This is an exciting world to work in.
