We did it again.

Another live in-person presentation of First Look.

Washington Post Lives Weekly, One Stop Shop for news and analysis.

It's usually a 30 minute show that features a conversation

with a post reporter about a big story,

followed by the Opinions Roundtable

with two of my post opinion colleagues.

Well, on July 26th, we went for nearly 90 minutes with a stellar crew of Washington Post reporters

that included Chief Correspondent Dan Bals, Leon Caldwell anchor at Washington Post Live, and co-author of The Early Brief newsletter,

and Washington Post White House reporter Tyler Pager.

Then I turned to the opinions round table that featured Washington Post

Associate Editor Eugene Robinson,

Senior Critic at Large, Robin Givond,

and contributing columnist Jim Garrity.

But we did something different this time.

I kicked off the conversations with Senator Tim Kane, Democrat from Virginia, who was Hillary Clinton's vice presidential running mate in 2016.

We talked about President Biden's Oval Office address ending his re-election campaign,

their rapid coalescing around Vice President

Kamla Harris, her looming choice for a running mate, and what it was like for

him when he got the call from Hillary Clinton eight years ago. for him

eight years ago.
