Hi Southlake listeners, it's Antonia Hilton. Two years ago, Mike Hixenbaugh and I

told you about a campaign by conservative parents in Southlake, Texas, to

restrict lessons about racism and history. Now, in our new series, Great Vine,

you'll hear what happens when a parent accuses a teacher of convincing her

child to change genders, and the school district doesn't refute the charges. We

show how these types of allegations against teachers are tied to a national

movement to impose conservative Christian morality in public schools. Stick

Three days after the Dallas Express story, Great Vine highs principal Alex

Fingers called M. Ramser at home to check in on her. A colleague had advised

Ramser to document every interaction with school leaders going forward as a way

of protecting herself in case the district decided to punish her in the future.

So when Fingers called, she hit record without telling him. She later shared the

file with us. I've gotten through the most of it now, and I'm one of those I can't guess first page.

Principal Fingers opens by acknowledging that having gone line by line through the

Dallas Express article, he's concluded that Charlotte's claims about her were false.

So I want you to know, I don't want you to be thinking that there's this

prevacent cloud over your head saying, M is bad in this bad. I get rid of them

because that's that's not the case. He tells her he doesn't think she's bad. In

fact, as his inbox piles up with outraged parent emails, he's been

replying to them with praise for her. She is an amazing teacher. She is,
