We have a special interview today.

John Mark Comer is an author and a guy who works at a church in Los Angeles area.

It used to be in Portland.

Anyway, I've never talked to him before,

but I was anxious to because I love his book so much.

We kind of draw from the same well in terms of like how we've shaped our

understanding of following Jesus and stuff but you'll hear about that his latest

book is called practicing the way and it's just so good.

I hope you love the conversation and his book. I am so marinated in Dallas Willard

that every I am so marinated in Dallas Willard that everything I do is effectively somehow influenced by him. And my book is essentially about his comments about being truly safe in the world.

Wow, yeah, what I still struggle with what he says about that is so provocative.

It is. What do you think he means?

I think the only way I can make sense of that. I wish I would if he was living today and I could get

coffee with him that would be one of my questions for him. I think what he's saying

is there is nothing that can happen to us in this world that cannot find

itself redeemed long term through the healing process of eternity and that even death is not the end, you know, and so we don't need to be afraid.

I think that's what he's saying.

He's certainly not like that hardcore Calvinist who's like nothing bad's going to happen to you.
