Today's "Stay @ Home" series offers a deeper look into the food industry. Roy Choi (previously S4, E2) is a restaurateur and chef, known for his various restaurants, but in particular his famed Kogi Truck that disrupted the former fine-dining-based food industry. Nick Morgenstern (previously S7, E9) is an experienced chef who is also the Founder of one of NY's most iconic dessert shop, Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream.
First on call with Roy, he gives us an honest look inside how his business has been affected, from closing restaurants to using Kogi Truck in as a means to provide food and support neighborhoods that have been hit with the current pandemic. Jeff then calls Nick, who gives us a detailed look inside the food industry in NYC and how despite the chaos, he remains hopeful.

0:18.5 | interview all of my guests in person, but also |
0:21.6 | like conceptually, like, what do you guys want to actually listen to right now in the midst |
0:26.7 | of what we're facing? |
0:28.4 | What do you all need right now? |
0:30.5 | So we figured maybe let's call a bunch of the good people that have been on the show and |
0:36.2 | just ask them how they're dealing |
0:38.1 | and coping with Corona, both from a business standpoint, but also a personal one. |
0:43.8 | I think hearing from people that inspire us will help us to figure out the footing in these |
0:48.9 | uncertain times. I think we all go through this daily battle of figuring out big picture |
0:53.9 | problems like family |
0:55.5 | and unemployment and health, while also tackling minutia tiny details, like, when was the last |
1:02.0 | time I wash my hands, or do I have enough toilet paper, and it's a time to replace my mask, |
1:06.7 | or can I get away with one more day? These are definitely very unprecedented times. |
1:12.5 | And so this is just our small part |
1:14.4 | in attempting to gather us together and share some stories. |
1:18.4 | I hope you're able to get something out of these. |
1:20.8 | I know for sure it's helped me out a lot |
1:22.8 | just to have these conversations. |
1:25.2 | Okay, let's get into it. |
