Summary

In this conversation I share with you how to get of out the cycle of comparisons when it comes to your relationship with God. At times we will believe that God isn’t speaking to us because it doesn’t look the way it does for others. Not realizing that the way he may decide to move in one person’s life could simply be different than the way he decides to move in yours. And that’s okay. If you focus so much on how God is moving in someone’s else life you will miss the way he is moving in yours. This episode helps you break out of that trap of comparison. was actually swacked by a moment that I had this morning. I have a men's group that I host, and we have

0:48.2

prayer calls each and every morning, and I was basically speaking to them because the purpose of these prayer calls,

0:55.0

of course, is us to come together, intercede for one another, our families, our communities,

0:59.5

bring our requests to the table, but also to help honestly all of us really learn how to pray.

1:05.4

And one thing that I was speaking about is something that we may have heard, but we sometimes

1:09.7

neglect to make room for

1:12.1

is the fact that prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue. And so every time that we're coming to God

1:18.5

in prayer, no matter what that looks like, if it's in the morning throughout our day, in the evening,

1:24.1

there should be an expectation that we come into prayer with that he is going to speak that

1:29.0

he is going to give us direction clarity or highlight something to us that we need to know or understand

1:34.6

or even just a question that we may need to ponder on deeper and so it's really important even in prayer

1:43.5

that you always leave room for God to speak.

1:47.1

Because sometimes, like, we'll just be coming in and just, like, giving just everything, like, our request, what may be going on, what may be happening in our life in a moment, our worries, or cares and their doubts, which is necessary and significant and important, but we never take even a moment in between what we're speaking to God about

2:06.3

or even after to just sit and be present and hear what he has to say.

2:14.5

And I was using this example because this past Thursday I hosted a Bible study and there was
