That's one thing that we both do have in common, and that is public speaking.

I've done, I don't know, certainly no less than 100 events.

Probably closer to double that, I would say.

Sometimes it's, I mean, the smallest ones I've ever done, probably seven people,

and the biggest one is four or five thousand. And I, proud to say, I give the seven people the same show.

I give, you know, the 4,000. Right. Obviously, people say that public speaking is, it's the single

greatest phobia in the country. And you know a lot of show business people and so do I.

And so most of us have, what, you know, 13, 14 psychiatrists over the course of our lives

before we finally go to the great waiting room in the sky.

And one of the psychologists I was seeing once was talking about public speaking and how

and how relaxed I was out there and she said you know I actually think that's really maybe the

only time that you're really you that you're really comfortable being you and this is

absolutely antithetical to most people the idea that that you would loosen up on stage rather than

clam up on stage is really hard for most people to understand. But I think she was actually right.

First of all, have you ever been nervous before you went out in a public speaking event?

Sure. Yeah. Really? well, it's funny.

Nervousness is a, it is a cousin, maybe a distant cousin of curiosity.

You know, it's both, both things demand that you not know what's going to happen next, right?

Right.

I'm usually nervous because of uncertainty,

and curiosity is rooted in uncertainty.
