Every year, by some estimates, over 12 million people around the world suffer from strokes making it a

leading cause of death and disability. Here in the United States alone nearly 800,000 people

suffer from a stroke every single year and here's the thing. Without fast acting and near immediate

treatment the debilitating effects of stroke can change your life forever and it could

lead to death. We've talked about stroke on the show before because it's not only such a common problem, but the effects can be devastating.

Absolutely. A stroke can cause a whole range of symptoms, everything from weakness or even paralysis on one side of the body it can cause

speech to be slurred or in some cases make it difficult to understand what other

people are saying. There's confusion, trouble with vision, trouble balancing and

with coordination.

And of course, that's only if the patient survives.

All of that means that the earlier you detect a stroke,

the better off you'll be.

And that's why a new research team developed what could be a game changer in the stroke detection game.
