Do you remember the story of the Trojan horse from Homer's ancient Greek epic, the Iliad?

You remember that, right? Let me remind you as we face many Trojan horses

in modern life. According to legend, after a 10-year siege of Troy, the Greeks devised a stealthy

plan to enter the city instead of continued combat. Under the guidance of Odysseus, they built a

massive wooden horse, ostensibly as an offering to Athena for their safe return home.

But secretly, it was a clever trick. The Greeks pretended to abandon the war and sail away,

leaving the horse outside the gates of Troy. The Trojans, believing that they had won and that the

horse was a divine gift, brought it inside their fortified city as a trophy.

Unbeknownst to the Trojans, the horse was hollow and contained a select group of armed Greek

warriors. At night, while Troy slept, believing their long struggle was over, the Greek soldiers

emerged from the horse, opened the city gates to the returning Greek

army, and destroyed the city and all its inhabitants inside. As mentioned, we face many of

person thing or situation that seems appealing, beneficial, or harmless

on the outside, but conceals a hidden agenda or harmful effects. It is a metaphor for deception,

where the true intentions or consequences are masked by a facade of something enticing or
