Welcome everybody to the podcast this week. I am sitting here, Maude Gonzalez, with Dr. James DeYoung, and we're going to be talking about his brand new book,

supernatural encounters, divine and demonic, and just kind of getting into all of what we

understand as spiritual warfare.

And I think it's going to be a great discussion.

things. It's going to be a good time. And again, things are moving fast. And maybe, you know, before we get into this, well, welcome to the program here. Well, thank you, Monda. I appreciate the invitation. And I, and, uh, for the sake of the

audience, kind of share a little bit about your background, because, you know, this is, this is a little

bit loose here. We're not stuck on one topic, but kind of, kind of introduce yourself to the audience. All right, I grew up on a farm in

Illinois. I went to Moody Bible Institute for my first schooling after high school, and from there

went to a Southern Baptist College in Texas to finish out my BA requirements, then felt led by the

Lord to go to a seminary and went to Talbot Seminary in Southern California on Biola University campus.

And from there, the Lord impressed me to go on since there was only another two or three years

and I could earn a doctorate. So I went on to Dallas Seminary and finished a New Testament there.

And then the Lord gave us a wonderful invitation. The president of Multnomahs School of the Bible came to Dallas looking for new professors.

And so I accepted the invitation to go to Portland, Oregon, where we taught for four years.

And then Western Conservative Baptist Seminary invited me to come across town to Western Seminary,

and I accepted that, and I was there for 40 years.
