On the outside, Megan Connor seemed like a happy, active, and typical child growing up.

But behind the facade, Megan was silently living as a victim of an unthinkable crime.

Beginning at the age of seven, Megan was trafficked in a child pornography ring for four years

by someone she and her family believed they could trust.

Due to suppressive systems, strained familial relationships,

and a strict religious upbringing, Megan was silenced,

and long suffered from the mental and emotional trauma of that heinous crime.

But through therapy, reflection, time, and healing, Megan has now cultivated a healthy, authentic

existence from the ashes of her past. It wasn't easy, and she walked through fire to get here.

and anything deemed unpleasant was pushed beneath the surface.

The rigid lifestyle meant that if Megan attempted to talk about the horrors she was subjected to as a child, there would be social and spiritual consequences within her family.

Generations of complicated family dynamics meant that Megan had nobody she could turn to

to help her process her emotions or heal.

Leaving her household didn't mean the journey was over.

She endured further sexual assault and abusive relationships.

Healing takes time and through a journey of strength and self-discovery, Megan was able to find a way through.
