0:16.2	Today we're going to start with Andy giving you updates in two cases we've covered recently.
0:21.7	The first was the shocking attempted murder suicide in which a California doctor drove
0:26.1	the family Tesla off a 250 foot sheer cliff in early January.
0:32.0	Miraculously, the family, including the doctor, Darmesh Patel, his wife Neha and their two
0:37.1	children, a seven-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, survived and were able to be rescued.
0:42.8	Absolutely incredible.
0:44.2	Unbelievable.
0:45.4	When we left the story, Darmesh had been transferred from the hospital to a jail cell and had been
0:49.7	charged with three counts of attempted murder.
0:52.4	Two of those counts had enhancements of domestic violence, great bodily injury and more.
0:57.9	On Thursday, February 9th, Patel entered a plea of not guilty.
1:02.3	The San Mateo deputy district attorney, Sean Gallagher, however, said that the evidence
1:06.7	is significant.
1:08.3	As we discussed previously, that evidence includes footage from a nearby tunnel that shows
1:12.6	the incident as well as eyewitnesses that said that they didn't see any brake lights or
1:17.0	indications that Patel tried to slow down before going off of the cliff.
1:20.8	The evidence for the prosecution also included initial statements from Neha, which, when rescuers
1:25.9	reached them, that her husband had intentionally tried to kill them.
1:29.6	Interestingly enough, local news outlets are reporting at the Thursday hearing Neha herself
1:35.4	requested that her husband not face prosecution.
