In this episode, we'll be exploring the evolutionary implications of one of the more heinous acts

of consumer terrorism imposed upon American society in the 1980s, which is the notorious

Chicago Tylenol murders.

On September 29, 1982, a chain of events began in which multiple people who had recently purchased bottles

of extra strength Tylenol in the Chicago area fell violently ill soon after ingesting the capsules, succumbing to some type of poison.

It was later learned the cause of these traumatic sudden deaths was none other than potassium cyanide, which had found its way into numerous packages

of the product that hits store shelves around that time. Speculation immediately surfaced

that perhaps Tylenol's parent company, McNeil, a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson,

had inadvertently tainted its own medicine, leading to the catastrophe. But this was no accident. The truth is more sinister. These

deaths were all intentional. Yet, even knowing that, decades later, we have no clear motive and worse, the

killer roams free. So let's crack open this case and examine the inner workings of the resources at play.

The key to understanding how and why this event transpired is the movement of resources.
