This week you're lucky enough to have Sarah Lyle back in the Captain's Chair.

She's here in conversation with Tana French, the great

mystery and crime writer who sets most of her novels in Ireland. If you're

familiar with her, it's likely for her Dublin Murder Squad series.

But her new book, The Hunter, takes place outside of that series.

It's a sequel to 2020's The Searcher.

It's a pleasure to welcome Tana French, who's here to talk about her latest novel, The Hunter.

She's the author of six delicious books in a series featuring a rendelet of detectives from

the fictional Dublin Murder Squad, as well as three standalone thrillers.

The crimes in her books are almost secondary to the deep psychological mysteries of work.

Hi, Sarah, thank you so much for having me. So nice to have you and we're going to start with a very

simplest question. Tell us about your new book. The Hunter is set in the same imaginary town of Arna Kelty where the searcher was.

But this time, Cow Hooper, who moved there from the US when he retired as a police detective and was looking for a little bit of peace and quiet,

which he didn't get.

He's formed a relationship with a local woman.

Lena, the two of them are raising local feral teenager, Trey Reddy, turning her into a good kid going good places.
