Whatever you made of the past week of craziness out of the United States of America,

one story might have captured it all.

One story might indicate something else that's happening in America

other than the other bits of shitstorm that are flying past your window right now.

And that is, Marion, that President Donald Trump has the lowest approval ratings of any president since modern polling began with Dwight Eisenhower in 1953.

Now, is what is going on here? He's just in the door.

And is the penny dropping? Is there Byers remorse already?

Well, I think Byers' remorse was inevitable because, but you've got two things going on here.

Firstly, Donald Trump is doing exactly what he said he do on the campaign trail.

And then some, the only things he's not doing are the important things,

which is bringing down the price of eggs, the national obsession.

And also, you know, dealing with the war in Ukraine and dealing with China.

So he's not doing the big brush things that Americans wanted to make groceries cheaper,

bring down the cost to living, make housing affordable.

He's not looking at any of those.

But he's throwing a million shiny balls to distract Americans from the fact that he's not

doing the things that they elected him to do.

And he's doing a whole lot of

other stuff. What he is doing and he did promise is retribution on a scale that was, I don't think,

even the most doomsaying of his critics kind of expected the speed and the vindictiveness

that has landed with his retribution. you know, he's keeping that vow
