Ted Danson is an American actor and ocean advocate. He's best known for his role as Sam Malone on the NBC sitcom Cheers, which earned him two Golden Globes and two Primetime Emmys. He's also received Emmy nominations for his roles in The Good Place and Damages. Beyond acting, Danson is a passionate advocate for the ocean and a spokesperson for Oceana. In 1987, he helped establish the American Oceans Campaign, which became Oceana in 2001.
