on the Terry Becker case. Command staff agreed to fund the genealogy analysis through Parabon

Nanolapse. LV. and PD was notified that the Westminster PD was undertaking this process,

hoping to solve both cases in one fell swoop. The CBI lab provided the physical evidence samples,

a vaginal swab collected at Terry's autopsy, to Parabond's partner lab for preparation of a SNIP

profile and the process began. Parabond's initial snapshot report to the Westminster PD was dated

July 18th of 2019. The suspect who left his DNA inside

Terry Becker was predicted to be white, to have hazel or brown eyes and brown or blonde hair. He had

very fair skin and few freckles. His ancestry was 83% northern European and about 13% from the

Caucasus region of Europe.

The suspect's raw data DNA file was uploaded to Jedmatch. As an aside here, I'm either

abbreviating names or using pseudonyms to protect these individuals' privacy.

The top match was identified as Jana M of El Paso, Texas. She shared 91.9 centumorgans of autosomal DNA with the suspect,

consistent with a sixth to ninth degree relationship, most likely a second cousin once removed

or a third cousin.

Parabon determined through email exchanges with Jana that she was adopted and had identified

the maternal side of her biological family.
