0:37.8	Together, we discussed how these issues affect sex workers,
0:41.1	including the double standards for censorship, especially on social media,
0:45.6	and the rampant discrimination against the adult industry, from financial institutions to
0:50.3	housing discrimination. So Mike, I guess we could start with asking what is the Free Speech Coalition and why is it necessary?
1:01.0	So the Free Speech Coalition is the trade Organization for, Trade and Advocacy Organization for the
1:05.1	adult industry. We've been around for over 30 years. We got our start when the FBI and the
1:11.0	Department of Justice was cracking down on adult companies in the late 80s and early 90s.
1:15.6	So what was happening and it did there's a lot that is comparable to what's happening today,
1:20.4	except it's the DOJ and the FBI rather than private companies.
1:25.0	They were coming after individual companies and shutting them down.
1:28.6	They were taking the power of the federal government to shut down distributors to
1:33.4	shut down producers to raid them there wasn't a lot of crime they could actually
1:37.3	point to but if you have the whole power of the federal government coming
1:41.2	after you it puts you out of business pretty quickly.
1:43.6	You can't operate your business.
1:45.6	You know, it costs a lot of money and lawyers.
