All right, hello, everyone, and welcome back to making the argument.

So we've got a fun episode for you today.

We're going to talk about guns, one of my favorite topics.

In fact, very recently I found myself in yet another floor debate with one of my colleagues

in the General Assembly who said repeatedly that the only reason why we wouldn't vote

for his anti-gun legislation because we were just too terrified of Trump,

to which I pointed out, maybe the only people terrified are apparently Democrats who are

terrified of their own citizens being able to defend themselves. Well, today we have a special

guest, Alexis Wilkins. And I got to tell you, I like hearing from women on this issue. And in part because my wife

is one of the, I think one of the most articulate defenders of gun rights. And she talks about it,

not just a general right, but she's able to talk about it and articulate it specifically with

respect to why more women should be more passionate about this issue.

And Alexis is definitely cut from the same clause. So Alexis, thank you for being here today.

Thanks for having me. So all right, give everybody just like the the top wiki paragraph version of

your life because you do a lot of stuff. I mean, you do, you've been involved in a lot of

things that have a really robust career. But tell us a little bit, you know, just give us the,

the Cliff Notes version. Perfect. Yeah. Well, so the very Cliffs Nose version is that I started out

as a as a songwriter and musician in country music, both writing for other artists and for myself.

And as we kind of came into the COVID era, I was told that putting an American flag and

working with veterans organizations was a partisan thing.

You were told us in the country music industry? Oh,. Oh yeah. It's it's you know behind the scenes all of these companies are owned by the same people.

And so it's it's it's not something that you think of because you think that country music might be safer, but alas it is not.
