Always great to have you here. And today we're going to talk about the archangels.

That's exciting. Let's begin with who are the archangels? What makes them different than other types of angels?

Okay, this is great. So we get the word archangel mentioned a couple of times in the Bible, not many. Michael is identified as an archangel. And there's a lot of early Jewish tradition about this that kind of got codified and received by the church later on,

St. Gregory, Thomas Aquinas. So an archangel, so angel is from a Greek word, Anglos, right? It's

angel, which means like just a messenger. But the angels are more than messengers, right? So we start to use this word for, right,

spiritual beings that God has created who are eternal and rational. But there's sort of different

levels. So an arch angel, you can see arch, right, like your arch enemy is your number one, right?

So an arc angel is a, it comes from a Greek word that means a leader, right?

So archangels are angels who are also in charge of other angels.
