0:26.3	We're coming to you, as always, from Paris and Amsterdam.
0:29.1	And today, we wanted to talk about something that often seems a little bit distant from our lives,

0:38.3	work every day. Yes, we're going to talk about the food on our plates and the people who grow it.
0:43.7	It's been a very difficult and pivotal year for farmers. If you're listening to this from basically
0:48.2	anywhere in Europe, there's a strong chance you've seen farmers on the streets protesting.
0:53.8	And in response to these protests, we've seen some of the EU's most progressive green policies watered down.
1:00.6	Honestly, we've been trying to get our heads around the whole thing.
1:04.0	And when I say we, I mean Dominic and me, but also our producer, Foycheck.
1:16.6	Yeah. but also our producer Foychek. It's May 10th, 24,
1:19.6	five months into farmers' protests that have rocked cities across Europe.
1:24.6	I'm attending one in Warsaw, organized by the biggest farmers union in Poland.
1:30.3	It's built as a protest of food producers marching in opposition to the EU's big package
1:35.8	of climate legislation, the European Green Deal.
1:40.3	There's a massive crowd. The voice, working the crowd from the speakers, says that 50,000 people are here.
