Shout-out to Zach from East Central Wisconsin, who wrote in on January 29 and lightly chastised us for being pretty dismissive of Dogman seemingly out of ignorance to the property. I’ll read a little from his email: “I’m a childless man-child in his mid-30s who follows the comics and graphic novels industry, so my knowledge comes from that world, where Dogman is an absolute juggernaut. In any year end sales data breakdown for graphic novels, Dogman’s now 12 volumes are often the majority of the top 20, outselling by large magnitudes the most storied franchises in that space (Spider-Man, Batman, Watchmen).” Skipping ahead, he says, “Although I can’t speak to its quality, this movie has a gigantic built-in audience that if it hits will most likely result in a moderate to major success.”
