On January 15th of 1947, a young mother and her three-year-old child were walking to a shoe repair shop

when they suddenly saw the body of Elizabeth Short laying in a vacant lot in Los Angeles, California.

Elizabeth's naked body was cut cleanly in half at the waist.

71 years later, her death remains one of LAPD's oldest and most famous cold cases.
