Well, we've been in Second Peter. We're talking about the subject of Latter-day apostasy.

Apostasy is an English word that comes from a Greek word, apostasia.

If you study Greek, you'll be amazed at how many English words just come straight out of the Greek language.

Apostasy in Greek means to move away from something or to depart from

something. As applied to the Christian faith, it means to depart from the faith, which brings

up a big question. What is, quote unquote, the faith? What is the Christian faith? You say,

well, golly, that's a stupid question.

Everybody knows what the Christian faith is. I would beg to differ. I would say that most people

don't know what the Christian faith is, and that would include a lot of Christians, by the way,

these days. They don't have a clue about what the faith is.

Well, that's what we're talking about.

We're talking about the faith.

Well, we've been in 2nd Peter, and I want to reread, starting in 2nd Peter 1, verse 15.

Moreover, it says, Peter, I will endeavor that you may be able after my decease to have these

things always in remembrance Peter's writing this letter as he's on the verge of of dying if

you recall he was sentenced to death the Roman Empire and he was crucified upside. They wanted to crucify him right side up,

and the story goes that he said, I am not worthy to be crucified right side up, as was my

Lord, so they crucified him upside down. And that can't be a whole lot of fun.

And an agonizing death.

And he says, I want to write something down here.
