But not just any box.

It was covered in silk and adorned with golden rope for handles.

Inside, it housed most precious cargo.

Christmas tree ornaments.

Now, these ornaments were not like most.

They were magical.

Every night, on each of the 12 nights before Christmas,

just after the last candle was put out,

they would spring to life,

and it was then at night that their day would begin.

They would climb down from the tree and tidy up the presents beneath,
