happiness is really an illusion in other words you make up the idea of whether you are

happy or not and you really only know whether you are based on judging

people you could be having a really cruddy day for instance and then meet someone who's

experienced a devastating situation and is now desperately struggling in their life,

And then all of a sudden, by contrast, you start feeling better about yourself and your situation in life.

And you've probably also had the opposite experience where you've been feeling pretty good about yourself

and you're a lot in life and then you visited someone else's big beautiful house or met someone else's

well-behaved children or looked at someone else's exotic and fabulous vacation photos and all of a sudden

You see, we only understand ourselves by comparison to someone or something else.
