Meet Today’s Teacher:

J.V. Fesko is the Harriet Barbour Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, and a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He is author of many books, including Word, Water, and Spirit: A Reformed Perspective on Baptism, The Need for Creeds Today, and Justification.

1:12.8	From the covenant of works and the fall of Adam yesterday, here's Dr. Fesco on the covenant of grace and the work of Christ.
1:23.5	In the wake of Adam and Eve's fall, they stood trembling before the presence of God,
1:28.7	but God announced that there would be a hope of salvation. We read in Genesis 315,
1:34.7	I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring.
1:41.8	He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel.
1:47.3	So God promised that one like Adam would come to redeem Adam and Eve and redeem their
1:53.5	offspring from the ravaging effects of the fall.
1:56.7	This is what theologians call the proto-evangelium, or the first promise of the gospel.
