I think like a lot of people, I feel like there's a kind of morning, a bit of morning going on for the old Elon.

It's a very tough story, I think, the last 15 years or so in technology.

I view it as a time of certainly plenty of good things, but also a time of crushing disappointment.

We're dabbling the most dangerous thing imaginable here.

I mean, we're literally close to creating something that has greater superpowers than we do in every aspect almost.

And today I'm personally delighted to say that we're joined by Chris Anderson, the curator of TED, a non-profit organization that hosts an annual conference in Vancouver and shares the now famous TED Talks on topics including

technology, entertainment and design. Welcome Chris. Nice to be here, Jane. Now, I am a huge

fan of TED. I've been to many TEDs. I've hopefully shared some of the ideas that were spoken

about at TED when I worked at the BBC.

I wanted to start with you just for those people who perhaps don't know the organisation,

and I'm sure many of the people that listen to this will have listened to TED talks,

but for those that haven't, just give us a quick sort of brief explanation of what it is that TED does.

Well, it started as an annual conference in California covering, you know, technology, entertainment
