Hi everybody this is Kimberly and you're listening to a date with date line and

datelines back kind of this is what we would call a soft launch of the new season. It is a new episode, but Peacock tacked it on to the end of last seasons and

last season they had a couple episodes like this, like Paige Turner was one of them and it had a weird number because it was like kind of in between seasons

Okay, I don't know what they're doing. I think I figured it out as you were talking. I think because of the Olympics and the Olympics isn't every year

So these are episodes that would have run had the Olympics not happened. So we're sort of finishing that up before the new season begins.

Does that make sense?

That's possible. Okay. Also possible that they have one hour episodes ready to go

when NBC needs a one hour and then the two hour they're saving for the new season.

For sure because I was very surprised that this was not a two hour.

But we wanted to do this one because it is technically kind of the beginning of the new season and we've been really excited for the new season.

Also, it's a Mankey and Mankey poo. We love Mankey poo. I shouldn't, I don't know why I just called a manquipu. I've never done that before Josh Manchowitz our dear

colleague and friend. Yes. Also this pause is something that is extremely

important to him which are the underrepresented cases of black women especially women of

color in general indigenous women people that are going missing and their cases are not

covered and also the number one cause of death for pregnant

women is homicide in this country. That's horrendous. Yeah and I'm glad Mank reminded

us because I was about to and then he did it.

Wow, that's terrifying.

It is, it's terrifying.

But this episode also had some amazingly strong people,

some really good family member interviews some sassy bank moments yes it had

some good police people it had FBI it had some great things for us so yes even though it's sad we're still going to be here
