Why did God institute holy days for his Old Testament people?

Yeah, there are many of them, aren't there as you make your way through the Old Testament.

We have, of course, right in the beginning of the Bible,

there's some special days there. God, I suppose, could have created the whole thing in one day or

five days or 20, but we have seven. We have six days for creation. We have a seventh day rest.

And we have special days from there on out already in that in the creation

narrative you can see that the seventh day would be a holy day that's the day god rested and

it's already in the first couple chapters of the bible you get get this indication that the Lord has holy days,

holy times. And why do we have these holy days? Well, just think again about that seventh day.
