murders,

a crime that broke the hearts of a community

that turned into an investigation cloaked in secrecy

and then turned into a trial with limited public access.

And as all this plays out, many are wondering if the truth will be revealed.

Here's the story. It was a mystery that broke the hearts of two families, terrified a small community and touched the world.

The murders of two young girls, Abby Williams and Libby German.

The case became known as the Delphi murders.

The setting, a small Indiana town of just 3,000 people.

From the beginning, investigators suspected it was someone local,

which made it even more difficult for everyone living in this small community.

It all started on February 13, 2017,

when Libby and Abbey went hiking.

The two teenagers were good friends

and had the day off from school.

The weather was unseasonably warm, but when Libby and Abbey did not show up

when they were supposed to get picked up, their families began to worry, and they began to search. Then the next day the bodies of these two girls were found,

both victims of murder.
