0:28.6 | The Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, were adopted in 2015 as part of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. |

1:18.3 | Now because health is inextricably linked to issues such as poverty, equality, water and sanitation |
1:24.1 | or education, achieving this particular goal requires broad and comprehensive action |

1:32.3 | Well, truth is, quite off track globally. So while there's been progress in combating infectious |
1:39.3 | diseases such as AIDS or reducing child deaths, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with Russia's |
1:45.5 | war on Ukraine and other ongoing crises has disrupted global progress. |
1:51.0 | And some regions, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, are seriously lagging behind in many targets. |
1:57.6 | According to the World Health Organization, in 2023, only 15% of health-related SDGs were on track, |
2:05.0 | and less than a third of them were likely to achieve their 2030 targets. |
