You know, I know people that have been living up there for most of their lives that don't even know the story.

It's incredible.

I go, this is Nusa.

This is Nusa heads.

And it is the poorest capital.

And you have people walking those streets and there's a potential murderer just, you know, lying on the beach next to you.

On the 9th of November, 1984, 31-year-old Leslie Larkin was found lying naked and unconscious across a mattress in her home in Nusa Heads.

She had suffered a severe head injury and would later pass away in hospital.

Leslie was a beloved member of her community and last month signalled 40 years since her murder.

Despite more than 150 interviews conducted at the time, the motive for this crime has never been determined. No signs of robbery, no evidence of sexual assault,

and no apparent forced entry. On today's episode, Zanthi will be speaking with Leslie's little
